Eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first guests....

Pepper and Matilda will be arriving tomorrow morning for a 9 week vacation with us. Their accommodation has been cleaned out and kitted out with fresh bedding and we can't wait for them to arrive.

Matt, my 11yr old son, is off to South Africa tomorrow for 8 weeks - he's really excited and nervous and I'm not sure if agreeing to his going was such a good idea. I know he'll have a wonderful time but its such a long time. Anyway - at least he'll have the opportunity to get out of the disgusting weather we're having at the moment.

So - latest chicken news - the incubator is switched on and gently rocking and warming the 6 hatching eggs - Dorking X that will hopefully pip out in 21 days and a few months later will end up on the table..... I can candle the eggs next week to see if anything's going on - will update blog then.

Here are a couple of updated piccies - one of a damp hen seeking refuge and the other of the Omlet site in my back garden.

Eglu Sitting from the Chicken Sitters . . . .

We are offering a chicken sitting service on the Berkshire/North Hampshire/ Oxfordshire/Wiltshire borders, giving you peace of mind when away on holiday.

You can deliver your chickens in their own Eglu, or you can hire a holiday Eglu, which would save you the hassle of dismantling your own.

Each morning the chickens are let out into the run and tucked up again at night. If you have any special routines, these can be continued whilst you are away.

Organic feed and treats are provided as well as general housekeeping.

We do not allow your chickens to roam free unless you supply a separate pen - this is purely to avoid disputes with other resident chickens.

We have 3 chickens, 3 cats and 2 chicken friendly dogs. We also have Giant African Land Snails but they don't really spend any time with the chickens....

The chickens live in a large garden with grass and a wooded area which will easily accommodate your own feathered friends.
However, we can only take up to two extra Eglus, in addition to our Holiday Eglu and of course our own!x

Cost is £2.50 per chicken per day or £3.50 per chicken per day if using our Eglu.
